Partner: Velos Youth
Thematic: Preventing and Combating Gender-Based Violence
Project Duration: 12 months
Budget: 36,583.76€
Country: Greece
Location: Attica

The project aims to prevent and combat gender-based violence (GBV) among refugee populations in Greece, focusing on young male refugees aged 18-30. More specifically, it seeks to educate and raise awareness about GBV through participatory actions and discussions in the beneficiaries’ native languages. By training mentors from the refugee community, the initiative aims to shift mindsets, encourage understanding, and empower participants to become active agents of GBV prevention within their communities.

Target groups:

The project targets two main groups, young male refugees aged 18-30, who will participate in awareness-raising activities, and trained mentors from the refugee community, who will lead discussions and provide support. These mentors will be equipped to facilitate educational sessions and promote understanding of GBV. The initiative focuses on fostering a safer and more equitable social environment.
