The project addresses perinatal gender-based violence (GBV), a neglected form of abuse occurring during pregnancy and the first year postpartum. It focuses on educating healthcare professionals in the Thessaly region to identify, manage, and refer GBV cases while raising public awareness. Activities include training sessions for healthcare professionals, awareness campaigns, and the dissemination of resources. The project aims to foster a safer environment for women during the perinatal period by promoting early detection and intervention.
Target Groups:
The target groups include healthcare professionals, women (pregnant and new mothers), potential and new fathers, and the general public. The project equips healthcare professionals with skills to address GBV and engages the broader community through awareness campaigns. Pregnant women and new mothers benefit from enhanced support during the perinatal period, while new fathers are included in efforts to foster understanding and shared responsibility in creating a violence-free environment.
