The Bodossaki Foundation, as co-funder and coordinator, in consortium with the NGO Support Centre, is announcing an open call for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Greece and Cyprus to submit project proposals for funding under the “PREVENT – Preventing gender-based violence and violence against children” programme which is co-funded by the European Union under the CERV (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values) 2023-DAPHNE Programme. The aim of the PREVENT project is to prevent and combat gender-based violence (GBV) and violence against children, by supporting Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) active in these fields, in Greece and Cyprus, and by increasing their knowledge, capacity and sustainability.

The open call, entitled ‘Preventing and combating gender-based violence and violence against children” aims to provide financial support to CSOs to implement activities including the development of approaches, tools or systems to prevent all forms of GBV or violence against children, the provision of gender-sensitive and/or child-friendly support services to victims of violence, the implementation of research, advocacy, watchdog and monitoring activities, and the implementation of awareness-raising and training activities to combat GBV and violence against children and tackle gender stereotypes.

The Open Call focuses on the following two (2) thematic areas:

  • 1st thematic area: “Preventing and Combating Gender-Based Violence”
  • 2nd thematic area: “Preventing and Combating Violence against Children”

The available funding of €1. 610.000 (€1.288.000 for Greece and €322.000 for the Republic of Cyprus) is intended to support initiatives to implement the following types of activities:

For the 1st thematic area on “Preventing and Combating Gender-Based Violence”

  • Development of methodologies, tools or systems to prevent all forms of gender-based violence
  • Provision of gender-inclusive support services to victims and/or witnesses of gender-based violence
  • Conducting research and analysis to inform policy-making at European and national level on preventing and combating gender-based violence
  • Carrying out advocacy, monitoring and follow-up activities on EU, national and international policies in the field of preventing and combating gender-based violence
  • Educational, awareness-raising and/or community mobilisation actions to prevent and combat gender-based violence

For the 2nd thematic area on “Preventing and Combating Violence against Children”:

  • Development of methodologies, tools or systems to prevent all forms of violence against children
  • Provision of child-friendly support services to victims and/or witnesses of violence against children
  • Conducting research and analysis to inform policy-making at European and national level on preventing and combating violence against children
  • Carrying out advocacy, monitoring and follow-up activities on EU, national and international policies in the field of preventing and combating violence against children
  • Educational, awareness-raising and/or community mobilisation actions to prevent and combat violence against children

Applications can be submitted from 5 June 2024 to 25 September 2024 (at 17:00) through the Bodossaki Foundation’s online portal.
