From 1936 to his death in 1979, at the age of 87, Mr Bodossakis lived in Psychiko, in a large house on Prinkipissis Elenis Street.
In 1968, he and his wife stated their wish by notarial deed that upon their deaths ownership of their private residence in Psychiko should be transferred to the Greek State, and the house should be used as the residence of the country’s Prime Minister. Ultimately the house was not used for this purpose and the bequest was amended to reflect this.
In 1985, it was decided that the Board of Directors of the Centre for Public Administration should use the Bodossaki estate in Psychiko as its headquarters.
In 1992, in the former Bodossakis estate, covering an area of 2.1 acres and currently valued at €45,000,000, was made available for the use of Hellenic Foundation for Culture (HFC), which continues to be based at this location.
