Active citizens fund: The new open calls for proposals of the EEA Grants programme for the civil society sector have just been launched!

Bodossaki Foundation, in consortium with SolidarityNow, acting as the Fund Operator for the Active Citizens Fund programme in Greece, with a total funding budget of €12 million, announces the programme’s two new open calls for proposals.

Call 3 “Increased citizen participation in civic activities”, with a total available funding budget of €1,000,000, is aimed at supporting projects that will increase citizen participation in public debates and decision-making, promote volunteering and educate citizens about their rights and obligations and the proper use of Media.
Call 4 “Increased support for Human Rights”, with a total available funding budget of €2,494,600, is aimed at supporting projects that will strengthen advocacy, educate and raise the citizens’ awareness, as well as that of special target audiences, such as organisations and civil servants, of human rights issues. Funding will also be allocated to projects promoting the collaboration of civil society organisations with Media on issues related to human rights.
The organisations eligible as implementation bodies are NGOs with legal status in Greece, whole the project partners may be public or private sector organisations with legal status in Greece, NGOs, Cooperative Social Enterprises, international organisations, informal citizens groups etc.
The closing date for the submission of proposals for funding is 3 April 2020.

In tandem with Calls 3 and 4, the Call for Bilateral Cooperation Initiatives remains active. This Call is intended to support activities aiming at enhancing relations between Greek NGOs and entities in the Donor States (Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway). The funded activities include educational trips for young people aged 18 to 30, who are given the opportunity to attend seminars, workshops and similar activities supporting the exchange of best practices and experience.
The Call for Bilateral Cooperation Initiatives, with an available funding of €92,000, will remain active until 30 June 2020 or until the available funds are exhausted.
