Legacy funds may be used to fund memorial scholarships that enable young people to realize their dreams, while at the same time honouring the memory and the philanthropic vision of their legators.
A representative example of a memorial scholarship is the “Stamatis G. Mantzavinos” Memorial Postdoctoral Scholarships Programme, named after Bodossaki Foundation’s former president Stamatis Mantzavinos. The programme awards scholarships to young scientists for expanding their scientific knowledge by carrying out post-doctoral research in top Greek or foreign universities, in the fields of Natural Sciences, Medicine and Biology.
The programme is funded through the management of a bequest of €5.000.000 in memory of Stamatis G. Mantzavinos.
