This project focuses on addressing and legally recognizing femicide. Despite international acknowledgment of femicide, its absence from legal definitions complicates data collection and the implementation of policies in many EU countries. The project seeks to promote institutional recognition of femicide, enhance societal awareness, and provide educational tools to foster a culture of prevention. By advocating for policy reforms and engaging with legal and political stakeholders, the initiative aims to create a framework for justice and societal change.
Target Groups:
The target groups include women as potential victims of gender-based violence requiring legal protection, legal professionals and academics engaged in addressing complex legal aspects of femicide recognition, policymakers responsible for gender violence frameworks, and the general public. The project emphasizes raising awareness among all these groups to build a preventive and supportive environment while fostering legal and societal acknowledgment of femicide.
