The “Initiative ’21” was formed in 2018, by the most important Public Benefit Foundations of our country and the National Bank of Greece, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution, organizing in Greece and abroad a set of actions, in cooperation with scientific and social institutions.
The “Initiative ’21” was an example of unity and dialogue, highlighting the public benefit character, the long-standing course and national contribution of the Foundations. With unity as a central pillar, a dynamic was created, which led to the continuation of the cooperation of the members of the Initiative on the major issue of Climate Change and the Environment.
The Foundations and the National Bank, in collaboration with academic, educational, research and cultural institutions and groups from across the country, support a range of actions related to education, climate change and health, air pollution, the sea, food insecurity, the economy and climate change, law and culture. The ‘Initiative 21’ continues to support actions oriented towards scientific research, study on environmental issues, education of civil society and young people on methods of prevention and ways of managing the effects of climate change, which have a practical and effective character.
