“Points of Support” Programme | Open Call for participation in the 4th Cycle

Eight charities join forces to support 29 civil society organisations through the programme

“Support Points” – Small Grants, Big Ideas

 

Eight charities are announcing an open call for participation in the fourth cycle of the “Points of Support” programme, aimed at supporting civil society organisations in their implementation of innovative small-scale actions with maximum social impact and to strengthen their structures and capacity building.

The Programme is addressed to Greek private non-profit organisations and social cooperative enterprises and is an initiative of John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, TIMA Charitable Foundation, Hellenic Hope charity organisation, Bodossaki Foundation, Captain Vassilis & Carmen Constantakopoulos Foundation, A. G. Leventis Foundation, A.C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation and Costas M. Lemos Foundation.

For the 2020-2021 period, the Programme will provide grants of up to five thousand Euro (€5,000) per action to a maximum of twenty-nine (29) actions with a duration of up to twelve (12) months, falling under one of the following subject areas, as defined by the Programme’s respective sponsors:

Ι. “Social integration of people with Disabilities” (John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation)

ΙΙ. “Support of the elderly” (TIMA Charitable Foundation)

ΙΙΙ. “Support of actions for the child”:

  1. “Child protection” (Hellenic Hope)
  2. “Child and health” (Captain Vassilis & Carmen Constantakopoulos Foundation)
  3. “Children and the environment” (A. G. Leventis Foundation)

IV. “Support of actions for the protection of the environment”

  1. Protection of aquatic and coastal ecosystems” (A.C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation)
  2. “Protection of forest and other terrestrial ecosystems” (Costas M. Lemos Foundation)

In addition to the grants, the Programme also includes free participation of the organisations in capacity building activities, which will be funded and implemented by Bodossaki Foundation through Social Dynamo, an initiative of the Foundation implemented in partnership with the City of Athens (through the SynAthina platform).

In the Programme’s third cycle (2018/2019), six charities had joined forces to provide 24 actions, each with a duration of up to 12 months, with grants of up to €5,000 per action, covering a wide range of activities, from innovative social inclusion practices for PWDs and pilot experiential programmes for the elderly to initiatives for the prevention of the social victimisation of children and actions to raise environmental awareness among children. The 24 actions were implemented in a number of prefectures throughout Greece, with the total number of the Programme’s beneficiaries exceeding 10,100, while the organisations were strengthened through their participation in the training, mentoring and counselling activities offered by Bodossaki Foundation’s Social Dynamo. The fourth cycle of the “Support Points” Programme (2020/2021) sees the number of supported actions raised to 29, as the Programme’s list of sponsors is expanded with the addition of A.C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation and Costas M. Lemos Foundation.

Interested organisations may submit their applications by Thursday, 30 April 2020 and the results will be announced by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, 15 July 2020.

The deadline for the submission of applications for participation is extended to 5 p.m. on Friday, 29 May 2020 and the results of the Open Call will be announced by 5 p.m. on Friday 31 July 2020.
